Muzzle break vs Flash suppressor

Just purchased a new bolt rifle with a threaded barrel. It's in 7.62X39 so a muzzle break is really not very useful, but a suppressor might help with those early morning and early evening shots. Are they illegal on a bolt gun?

There are no restrictions against flash suppressors on manually operated rifles in CA.
Sound suppressors are very regulated within CA though.
