Need a 300 AAC blackout upper recommendation

Looking for recommendation for a mid-range complete 300 blackout upper. Something better than an Anderson but not as expensive as a LaRue. Preferr with a free floating handguard, Thanks

I'm running this upper for my 300 build. With good ammo it shoots about 1 inch groups at 100. With cheap magtech ammo its about 1.5-2 inch groups. I'm very happy with it for the price.

Question; does a 16” or longer barrelled .300 AAC still require a pistol length gas system- in order to cycle properly? I know the 10.5” barrels have them.

Pistol gas systems give you more flexibility with loads. It's more likely to be reliable with subsonic loads. Carbine gas works fine with supersonic loads, but it's hit and miss with subsonics. That's why most use the pistol gas on everything 16 inches and under.

I bought a complete .300 AAC upper from Daytona Tactical.
They sell uppers without the BCG.
Free floating handguard.
Daytona Tactical 300 Blackout Upper.
About $250.
Keymod with choice of handguard length and width.
I've built several AR's from Daytona Tactical and am pleased.
I'm not shooting .300 AAC very much so wasn't interested in dropping $3K into one.

How many rounds do you have through that Daytona, desrt2? I got a full kit from them earlier this year. It was a 5.56 in fde. The extractor snapped at about 150 rounds. I fixed it, but i have serious doubts about the quality of the rest of the parts. Should have spent the money on another psa kit.
