An Afternoon Project: A Video Experiment

My buddy who doesnt shoot but who does professional photography and video wanted to film some gun related stuff asked me if id come out with my gear for some filming so he can fluff his portfolio to reach out to people wanting to make short action films or companies for commercials. We didnt get to do any NVG stuff, nor ended up using any of the DJI Phantom 4 footage, however after a quick 45 minutes of editing, this is what we landed on. Part 2 will eventually be done and incorporate movement and a possible second shooter. Thats me as the guinea pig for the entire vid. Its pretty great because it makes me look like i actually know what im doing haha. Any criticism is helpful

Don’t know your relationship with your buddy but I would have a written contract that states the video will be only used as a sample of his talent. Or if you allow sale/release it is restricted to non-anti use.

Own 5 figures worth of NVG but won't insure his eyes with $1 glasses. I've done the same. Then I gassed myself with a suppressor and always wear eye protection now.

I'd take some film of a properly protected shooter and re-edit. Rest looks great.

I had a piece of copper jacket imbed in my forehead. Eye pro is the number one protection item.

Thanks, it was shot on a 5D MK4 with a Ronin steadycam rig, and a bit of tripod. Lens was an EF 16-32 with 72mm lens iirc. Pretty soon hes gonna pick up a Red Scarlet Dragon, so the video quality will increase exponentially
