Shipping a firearm to yourself

I called FedEx and ups and they both refuse to send my rifle to myself in another state. In the thread below I was provided the legal info from the atf. Although the law states it is legal they said they cant. Has anyone done this before and if so how can I get this done.

USPs to yourself. Really no big deal to fly with firearm. Have never had a problem just wear a shirt that sys IWAS GOING TO DRESS UP AS A LIBERAL FOR HALLOWEEN BUT I FOUND OUT MY HEAD WOULD NOT FIT UP MY AS% You cannot ship handgun to yourself.

The best way to guaranty that your bags get there is to check a gun in them. The airlines are required to use with extra tracking and handling documentation.

One question, when you called FedEx and UPS, did you call corporate or did you speak with someone in one of the local store fronts?

I have never had an issue shipping firearms from my local Fed Ex hub.

Here's the deal. The LAW states that you can ship either handguns or long guns to yourself, or to yourself in care of another person as long as that person does not open the shipping container. However UPS, FedEx, and the USPS have made their own rules in their tariffs irrespective of the legality of this practice. USPS, however, DOES permit shipping a long gun (but not handguns) to yourself across State lines. It's right in their published policies. The carriers changed the rules, the law remains the same.

Whatever you do, don't break the rules if you are using your own account number.
