    Del Mar gun show

It is getting expensive to go to the Del mar gun show, I paid $28.00 before even getting in the door, everything has gone up,$14.00 to park in a parking lot that hasn't seen any improvement since the 80's and another $14.00 to get into the show. I wonder if the merchants at the show have noticed that people don't have more to spend.

Prices recently went up for vendor tables and vendor parking too.

This is probably how City of Del Mar plans to get rid of the gun show. I say move the venue. Find a better place with cheaper parking, cheaper entrance fee, lower fees for vendors and more local vendors to PPT.
Heck, you can barely fill a high school gym with all the good vendors from that show.

it's been years since I lived in populated CA but when I was down there 10yrs ago the show was nothing but glass figurines and jerky...wasn't worth the money then. Unless you went early for the miwall line...

I'm sure it's the same for the fishing and RV shows too.

Could also be Crossroads trying to maintain income in spite of reduced attendance. I've been to OC a couple of times, no intention of returning.

If they'd sell fewer tables to non-firearms related vendors they might get their attendance back. Airsoft, Ginsu knives, jerky...

When (or if) the ammo restrictions go into effect next year,
think how that's going to effect all future California gun shows.

I don't see this show lasting in the long run. I skipped last one. When I pulled in I was shocked to see $13 parking, total financial sodomy. And $16 for a show that was mainly lacking in size and has shrunk and many junk and non gun related tables was ridiculous. When I pulled in near 9am I only saw about 20 cars in main parking lot I think people are getting tired of this ripoff.

Crowd picked up later but most of day there was zero wait to buy anything from Miwall. I did pick up some ammo bargains on obscure ammo from private sellers and I did find a shotgun priced about only 40-50% of what they sell for on Gunbroker but overall show blew.

Food prices went up too. Those marginal overpriced sausages are now $11.50 they were $9 and no sides. I'd rather go hungry. I did eat at the Santa Maria BBQ place breaking my rule not to eat at shows. Plate looked small but was $11. They charged me $12.50 saying they forgot to change the sign. I should have said forget it. The beans were horrible. I guess they had to charge an extra $1.50 gun show ripoff fee.

Broke my other rule also out of desperation and took a dump at show. Earlier in day I used bathroom in the bldg closest to entry, not a peep from the old security guard. An hour later went back and he was squaking and bleating about how I couldn't use that bathroom.

I didn't feel like arguing with this old bastard and playing in to his respect mah authority attitude so I just crapped elsewhere.
