    Overall length question

I want to take apart my AK22 and see about rigging up something so I can put a folding stock on it. I have taken out all the obvious bolts but can't get the side of the receiver to come off (which I am pretty sure will give me access to the stock mounting hardware).

Is this thing legal without a stock? It still has the pistol grip, I just haven't finished making the piece which will act as a trunion yet. I want to take it to the range but want to make sure it is legal. Is there a over all length requirement for 22s? It looks like a sidefolder AK with the folding stock removed.

    Thanks,
    BDD

Duh. Take off the buttplate. It's late and I'm tired. Retarded too I guess

So I took the stock off and am going to take it to the range tomorrow (weather permitting). I just want to make sure that since it is rimfire it doesn't matter if it's overall length is under 30 inches. The magazine does not go into the pistol grip if that matters. I am pretty sure I am okay but want to be sure because a lot of LE use my range. I couldn't get the search function to bring up anything for me.

      Thanks,
      BDD

I think rimfire has to be at least 26 inches, but don't quote me on it.

I'm also not sure about the absence of the Butt, if youre not 100 % sure about what you have, I'd not do it.

Hopefully by the time I am thinking of going to the range someone will chime in and know for sure. Someone just got a WASR-22 on here that would be pretty much the same length I think (with the stock folded in).

Please someone answer, I want to go shooting in a bit.

The overall length is over 26 inches (28) so I am going for it. I wish the CG search function was better so I knew for sure but I should be okay.

Minimum OAL (overall length) MUST be 26".

And you need to measure with the stock folded/collapsed.
