It is a fair deal. Big 5 runs the Mossberg 500 packages under 300 around Christmas in years past. I like the 500s better but both will do what the are designed to do.

Me and a good friend hunter with big 5 500s for years. Birds never got away because of the gun.

Good deal? It's one of the most proven shotgun platforms in history, you might save a little more somewhere... but let's face it if it was much cheaper it would be free.

There's a guy at Apple Valley gun club that used to shoot trap with one of those and he shoots like the same scores as all his buddies. They all have higher end trap guns, it cracks me up.

I picked up this same combo for $329 at Big 5 last year and would consider a fair deal at $399

870 is superior to the 500 in fact any Remington is over any Mossberg and I am officially anti Remington.

I had a Remington 870 and sold it for a Mossberg. I now have a few Mossbergs and they have never failed.
