San Leandro Range Forced To Stop Having Ladies' Night

So I was down at the San Leandro Rifle & Pistol Range last week and they had this up on the wall because in addition to all the other bullhuckey regulations they pile on shooters here, the local government decided that a range ladies' night was sexist and had to be stopped.

Since when do private companies fall under equal protection violations?

I don't know about city and state law but there are plenty of things in life that are discriminatory by private companies.

Women only gym and yoga classes. Ladies get free entry at bars and clubs. Gay night. Kids eat free.

Last I checked discrimination of customers is perfectly legal by private citizens

How about 'shaved underarm' night, or 'long hair' night, 'wearing lipstick' night or 'painted fingernails night'. Seems like none of those would be sex based discrimination. Anyone could qualify if they wanted to.

My only issue is that I don't think it is fair that woman (ok, feminists) complain about living in a sexists society yet don't seem to mind all the free perks they get. I mean, they should at least have a FP night!

I believe the guy has a history of finding business in SoCal that offer a "ladies night" events and threatens legal action against those business unless they stop offering those events/discounts.

Locally there was a cripple that would find places that didn't adhere to the disabilities act for access. He sued them, for money, with the help of a lawyer. In the end, he sued the lawyer who was his partner for the same when he was done with him. LOL
