The Sig that' same price as a Glock.

At around 14:47 Hickock says he prefers the Glock 19. But praises the Sig because 'it fits like a glove'.

I had an Astra A-80 which was nothing more than a Basque copy of the Sig, and indeed the ergonomics and high bore line made it most comfortable gun I ever picked up. Also less recoil (high bore = less straight back forces, the gun rocks up more). Slower to aim, but gentler.

Gun Genie has these Sigs on sale now. About $485 whereas my LGS has several models of Glocks for $499 every day of the year.

2022 is cheapened down Sig (no full length rail, polymer frame, no take down lever). A regular Sig runs almost double price.

These were a big hit on Calguns several years ago, prices were in the low 400's. I have one and a bunch of others bought them too since they were such great values. I've used mine in many classes, several of which were in the rain, and have found it to be a reliable weapon. DA/SA takes training to get used to, but it's a smooth DA pull and considered one of the better triggers.

Yeah my Astra A-80 was a direct copy of the 226 Sig, only all steel no alloy and double stack 45ACP instead of 9mm. I'm used to the double/single and like it, maybe because I'm used to it.

The steel frame weight and high bore made it real easy on recoil for a 45, could shoot it all day!
Masad Ayoob had a Handgunner mag issue where he put the Astra, Sig, and Glock up against each other and liked them all. All 3 were new to the market at that time. I got the Astra as my first handgun.

      magazines $20.

This is a factory Sig SP2022 10-round 9mm magazine. The Sig Sauer SP2022 10-round magazine is specifically engineered for

Thanks op-I never really liked the Sig-Pro but this improved version looks really good for the price.

        For CC I'd rather have a G19.
        Way less mass and bulk.

But there are some situations where I prefer a DA/SA over a striker fired pistol.

For a HD situation I would be just fine with it...might even prefer it over the Glock.

Been watching videos on this 2022 since I saw this thread and I was sold on it until I saw the double click long reset.

Not sure if I could deal with that-perhaps- I'll have to see if there is a local rental to try.

I don't think there is any kits to rectify it.

Love my new 2022! My first Sig and it made me get a 220 and MK25.

I have a 2022 in 9mm and it's one of my favorite guns. People "discover" this forgotten Sig about once a week. Do a search and you'll find a few threads. It's probably less bulky than a G19. Check one out.

I have one in 9mm and love it. Fits well, looks great, more accurate than I am, and the price was very fair. Also came with night sights.

I really enjoy my Sigs. I have several. With that, two things really bother me about them.

Huge deprecation once it leaves the store, you could literally go straight from your LGS to you home, open the box snap a picture, post for sale and you will lose $200 for NIB. Put one magazine through it, well now we are talking a $400 loss, maybe even more.

The next most annoying this is the slide catch. I have to consciously remember to keep my large thumb away from the slide catch.

Other than that, I really like them. The Scorpion models really appeal to me.

The extended slide catch is one reason my daughter chose the SP2022. Her smaller hands had a hard time finding the slide catch on most of the handguns she tried. She would have to reach with her left hand to find it or shift her grip to reach the shorter ones.

I liked it so much I bought one in 40 cal and am buying another in 9mm next week.
I've got a thousand rounds thru the 40 with absolutely zero issues.
Very nice handgun for the price.

Why if I buy most likely will be used.

That is probably the only gun that i ever shot that i didnt want to go out and buy!

My brother has one and I have a 226. When we go shooting we trade off. I like it, but not as much as the 226.

I bought one earlier this year for $399. Great value. 2 mags, case, extra backstrap, lock so I didn't have to buy another one.

I had wanted a modern 9mm but do not care for glocks. I have found it to be a very accurate, reliable, and comfortable pistol to shoot and I prefer the da trigger over a trigger safety like many guns have these days. Just personal preference.

Something that is often forgotten is that these are in fact a service pistol. They are used by the French army and gendarmes. I have heard they have been used extensively in counter terror operations in Africa and proved themselves there.
