    22 Conversion kit for GLOCK

I want a 22LR pistol to loan to new shooters and since I never shoot my G17, Im considering getting a conversion kit for it. Anyone have experience with the Advantage Arms conversion kits?

I have an advantage arms conversion kit for my Glock 34. Well made, and high quality. Now having said that I took it to the range twice and it now sits in a cabinet unused. I much prefer shooting a dedicated .22 than using the conversion kit. While high quality, it does require high performance ammunition, and do not expect Glock reliability. Advantage Arms recommends using CCI Mini Mags or comparable.

Mine is the Glock 19 model from advantage arms.

I don't mind using the CCI mini mags. They're still less than half the cost of cheap brass case 9mm. My wife wanted to be more proficient with the 19, so I got it mainly for her but it is super fun to shoot.

Only issue is it needs to be cleaned every 200 rounds or so, seems to be really finicky about cleanliness. Using the right ammo and keeping it clean results in pretty high reliability.

I have one for 27. Yes, cleanliness is an issue. Of course, I'm a cheapskate and use Automatch and Golden Bullets on occasion. But maybe it's the shorter slide? Getting ready to try in a 17.

Mine is for a G17 and is reliable even with Federal bulk pack ammo. One advantage of the set up is light weight. Especially for teaching younger kids, the weight of even a 22/45 could be too much. Its fun - like shooting an Airsoft, lol!
