S&W .357 4inch

I think it is a 586 with an L Frame.
It is embarrassing to ask about the firearm I bought.
However, there was no paperwork with this pistol other than the safety stuff.
This is my first Revolver. I have 3 Semi pistols.
All the info regarding my Sigs Sauer, Glock, and S&W 39 are part of the firearm. My girlfriend has a Taurus 905.
Am I just missing the info?

If it's a 586, it'll have the model number stamped on the frame behind the crane. There are plenty of other S&W 4" .357s that don't cuz they ain't.

That is a mod 19, 586 has a full underlug it's blue steel, 686 is the same as a 586 except it is stainless.

I think CUDA67's point is that he prefers the model 19... which if the OP's gun was a pre lock model 19, it would be worth more and appreciate better than a 586 of equal condition.
