    Ladies Night on a Range....Illegal?

Magnum Gun Range had to cancel ladies night. Technically dude is right, but.....com'on!!

Riverside Magnum Gun Range canceled its ladies' night event on Thursdays after a lawsuit was filed claiming discrimination.

He should make up a nice big sign for the front of the store with the guys name and address saying why they don't get ladies night any more. It's a way fir a business to generate more customers, and it's hard enough to get women to join. I hate these predatory lawsuit types, hopefully something terrible happens to him

I don't agree with what this guy did.

Unfortunately, CA Gov/Courts will side with him because CA anti-discrimination laws makes "ladies nights" type events illegal for businesses to offer in CA.

What would be CA legal and can be used to continue the "ladies night" event at the shooting range is change it from "ladies/women = no range fee" to "any person wearing a bra or dress = no range fee". This would be CA legal, since there is no preferential treatment for one gender (because anyone can wear a bra/dress).

They shouldn't have paid, businesses are free to discriminate based on gender. They do it all the time for haircuts, drink specials, cover charges, at gyms, and for civic club memberships.

Edit: I forgot California went full potato on this a few years ago.

My range has tons of ladies specials. Ladies night, ladies concealed carry classes, ladies leagues. Hmm--maybe I'll sue to gain entry into the women's combat league.

You mean the women's mud wrestling combat league, right?

He wasn't discriminated against, he was still allowed in. No case, they should have just continued like normal.

I'm glad to see that Peter (owner of RMR) isn't gonna pay this turd bag off and is gonna fight.

People like Gregory Rolando are what are currently wrong with society. Apparently he's the litigious type that goes around suing places that offer such discounts (patent troll like IMO). Funny thing... He owns a business as well according to the article.

Here in San Digi, it's called "customer appreciation night". ..

Mr. Rolando probably still wouldn't get a discount...

Private events are not the same as public gender based pricing.

The second has been banned in California since the 1950s. And actively enforced on ladies nights for at least 20 years.
