New Springfield 1911 9mm Loaded Range Report

New and first time to the range went well.. Shot 200 plus rounds, chambered all except two flat point which hung up on the ramp. All rounds fired and ejected without any issues. Even light target reloads to +P rounds.
Trigger out of the box was 4 1/2 lbs, after I came home and cleaned her, the trigger was 3 3/4 lbs with out any adjustments. She is very tight, no slide to frame movement, was getting 1.5 inch groups with Winchester white box 115Gr. Very soft shooter, which is what I need due to neck problems. Have been wanting this pistol and looking for a long time. Local shop got two Loaded Target models in, then they offered all long time customers a 15% off, first one went right away, I called in to have them hold the other for me, sure glad I did! The only issue is the mags, super tight, really tough to get the last round in. Will load up the mags fully and let the springs relax. Got four more mags, holster and mag pouch from Springfield Gear Up promotion on the way for free, good bonus.
Cannot ask for more, very happy !

Congrats...I have put about 5 k thru mine...still runs great...

On the mag thing...I switched to Wilson and was sorry I waited half a year. I have 5 Springfield mags...and never use them anymore...

The Wilson load easier too...

Could not past up the deal, just too good. Got New for less then what I have seen in the used market. Plus the bonus of the Gear up Promo.
I run Wilson mags in all of my 45s, and they feed everything, may have to go to Wilson if the Springfield mags do not lighten up. But have to say, the springfield mags worked well today.

When I got mine I took advantage of the Springfield offer too...just figured out later that the Wilson mags are better for my taste...

The Spingfield factory mags work fine...just a pain to load...

yep... i picked mine up at $920 (before tax/dros) when they first started trickling in just 3 months ago after being out of stock for so long. of course if i had waited 1 month i would have been able to get it for $900 but w/e, $20 isn't such a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

I got mine a few months ago for $857 shipped (excluding fees) from Grabagun. I had mag issues the first time I shot it but they've been fine since. It was my first 1911 and I just jailed another one so the 1911 sickness is real.

Went to the rage again today with reloads to dupilcate Winchester White Box, 115 Gr/ #231/ 1.160 COL. 30 rounds at about 30 ft. Take out the flyers(operator malfunction) just over 2 inch group. I am sure I can reduce the groups once I find a reload that it likes better. Reason I tried to duplicate WWB, is that the pistol shot the best with that load over my other reloads that I have worked up for my EMP.

Try doing the plunk test to find the sweet spot COL for this barrel. Flush headspace is supposed to be best for lead, just slightly below flush is OK too.
