how about a ConEx box based shooting range?

they come in 53' long by 9' high by 8' wide.

centrally produced and cert for ballistics, noise, airborne lead, etc.

pre-engineered and cert to comply with local regs.

pick and drop at your ranchette or county fairs, tailgate parties, Nascar, springbreak etc. Follow the Snowbirds from UpState NY to FL beaches.

    on campus school gun programs.

lease them, rather than start from scratch old skool brick and mortar.

360 deg in 3 axis for full protection for doing live combat training at ranges that are otherwise much tamer.

For homeowner or RENTER, they could double or triple as high security storage, and hurricane/twister/fire/NBC attack/zombie bug-in.

Double door system so all live ammo/live guns are ALWAYS behind protection, so bystanders are always protected, and any thieves are doubly deterred.

What good is a Shot Show if you can't actually shoot the guns in my patented ConEx boxes in the vast parking lot of the convention center, or even on the convention floor.

nice but IMO those guys are trying to hard.

maybe I'll work on a set of specs for a DIY version.

probably weld rows of track inside which would in turn have a series of clips or hooks to hold sandbags and keep them from falling and hurting users.

and an approved scheme for laying sand bags ontop of the roof and overlapping the sides.

I'd try to avoid something like those big cube fabric and METAL wire mesh used by the military, due to the metal wire mesh....but who knows and what about the wire mesh on those? Do they just figure its not a big deal, given other risks in combat?

IIRC when a tacticool trainer wants a structure for live training they insist on NO METAL.

I had a boss that had one buried for a storm shelter. Since then i have always thought about burying a couple end to end for an underground shooting range

I imagine you'd probably need to deal with laws about where you can fire guns. Even inside your box you're still in someone's jurisdiction.

When I lived in AZ I saw one that was buried underground in someones backyard lot. They would shoot mostly suppressed weapons. Couldn't hear anything topside.

I don't think you've considered the cost of ventilation lead filtration system, needed for anything other than the occasional test firing. This isn't exactly a new idea, although I don't think I've ever seen anyone attempt to do a sealed 360 range in one. More than likely due to the excessive costs involved in sound proofing, bullet proofing. Hope you have a few million lying around to make your prototype, or some deep pocket backer's.
