    Ammo Question--Value

I have 55rds of M80 ball ammo on stripper clips.

    The stamp says WRA 67.

I am pretty sure it has been around a while (since 1967, perhaps?).

I've tried it and it shot very well.

I need to generate a few bucks by getting rid of a few things, and am considering moving this ammo, since I won't be shooting 308 for a bit.

Can anyone give me a fair value for what it is worth, if I sell it? I've gotten a basic idea through The Google, but an still not entirely certain.

(BTW In before someone says "Hey that is dangerous, I'll take it off your hands for free for proper disposal." )

55 rounds of 41 year old ammo, and you want to get rich off it? If you can find anyone to buy it, don't expect more than $10.

Getting rid of things for a few bucks...

if it is worthless, then thanks for letting me know. That is why I asked the question.

It wouldn't have any particular collector value. If it is in good condition it should be worth as much as any other surplus 7.62 x 51, which seems to be about .50 - .70 per round these days.

Hmm, that is a bit better than 18 cents/round as the first poster suggested.

When I asked the question, I knew it was just plinking ammo, and just meant what its value would be as such. I had guessed that I could ask 20-25 bucks for it (45cents/rd or less), and just wanted to see if that was reasonable.

          It's in good/decent shape BTW.

          Thanks for your input.

Need another vote for consensus now...

The ammo is now almost another hour older... thus I'm revising my estimate down to $8.53 for the lot.

Trade it to the Pizza delivery guy for a large pizza. It would be a fair trade.

I think somewhere around 20 wouldn't be unreasonable.
