Was at the Mt. View Walmart a little while ago today. They have at least 50 boxes of Speer Blazer Brass .40 ammo, $12.47 a box. I don't shoot .40 so don't know if this is good or not, just wanted to let you .40 shooters know.

Yep, the Walmart in Tracy was the same way this past weekend. I picked up 4 boxes of the Speer Blazer Brass 40 S&W and a guy behind me picked up 6 boxes. They even had some Federal 55 gr FMJ .223 in 100rd packs for
$39.99, so I picked up a box just to add for stock.sigpic

The WM in Valencia has only .25 auto and lots of .40 (and .22) in stock. Why so much .40? I was tempted to buy the .40 to shoot through my 10mm and then came to my senses and spent the money on wild bird food instead. I've got 400 rds of 10mm on hand as it is.Comment

40 seems to be the main caliber for LE these days, at least in SD.Originally posted by texan_in_exileI have always seen lots of spare .40 cal at Poway Wal-Mart and the one down on Clairemont Mesa in SD. Someone at Wal-Mart likes to stock extra .40 or people with .40 cal do not hoard ammo? Would make an interesting master's thesis in economics, should someone be up to the task.
I have a hunch that folks figure if they need 40S&W post-SHTF, there'll be enough lying around to make it useful.
Or maybe more of us reload? I know that's my thing.Primary author of gunwiki.net - 'like' it on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Gunwiki/242578512591 to see whenever new content gets added!Comment

of course, mtview wally world you will be waiting for 20 min... then when someone comes up he will say "the guy with the keys went to break" ... THEN that guy in the front wants you to show him your receipt for 1000 rounds of ammo that weighs 100 lbs! oh, and that guy put all your ammo in 1 plastic bag thats stretching by the second..
I made a point to stop at bevmo after my trips to wallyworld mt view!Comment

I took a little drive out of the Lincoln area to one of my old Wal Mart haunts in another county. Went to the Sporting Goods counter and saw 10-12 boxes of 100 rd. WW-White Box in .40 cal. I was looking for .45 and bought 2 boxes of Blazer at $14.95 per box/50.
Clerk told me they have been getting in pistol ammo regularly and customers are buying 2- 5 boxes each...no hoarding or shelf cleaning that he has seen.
Just goes to show that location is everything. In an emergency, always dial 1911.Comment
