I wonder if there was a way to tell if it was a counterfeit. If it isn't, why couldn't he sell it on the secondary market.

The way I see it...if it is a legit product it would be like Chevy telling you that you couldn't sell a used Chevy product because it is a patent infringement.

I guess LA sheriff's are taking over a job that has been handled by customs? I'm surprised they have the time and manpower, and I always though patent infringement was more of a civil issue, learn something new everyday I guess.

A friend of mine came across a ARMaglock that he thought was legit, so he put a set on eBay. Below is what he received:



I haven't seen the thing personally, but I am more interested to know that LA County Sheriff is endorsing ARMaglock?! If true as they claimed, this would be the best way to avoid assault weapon registration.

Is he selling it as a "locking device" or an Armalock? Its a civil issue number one between two manufacturers, but if you want to avoid any headaches just have him remove it for a bit, relabel as an armalock if he hasn't and go from there.

Just get the Exile machine Hammerhead grip and go featureless.

$30 for the Hammerhead, $6 for a thread protector (unless you have a muzzle brake), and $0.50 for a set screw to pin your stock (if you have a Magpul adjustable stock). It is cheaper than the AR-Maglock.
