    Out of state purchase?

Looking for a Beretta 92fs receiver frame(no slide or barrel) to marry up with the 22lr kit I already have. Found one in Utah, can I purchase it and have it shipped to a California ffl dealer for the transfer?

No, pistol frames are considered off-roster sales. Only complete handguns that are on-roster can be sent in, as DVS762 said.

A bare frame or a completed frame CAN be sent in. But in order to DROS it, it must be a complete pistol and the completed configuration must be a gun listed on the roster.

So if this frame is complete with all parts, and you have a complete, factory stock 92FS 9mm upper you can put on it before DROS, you can DROS it. If you are not exempt from safe handling demonstration, you will also need a magazine.

Thanks, I do have a complete 92fs and the 22lr kit. Could I send the dealer selling the frame the 22lr kit or does it have to be the 9mm Upper.

There is no 22LR Beretta 92 on the roster. It MUST be a roster configuration. So you MUST use a stock 92FS upper. Aftermarket sights would be OK, but not any hardcore slide mods, no aftermarket barrel, no G-lever conversion etc.

And as always, make sure your FFL is on board before you make the purchase.

You don't have to send the upper to the seller, you could also install it at your receiving FFL if they are savvy and on board. If they are not on board, then send the seller a complete upper. It will cost $7 in a USPS flat rate priority mail box.
