Why was FPD at the sale? Why were they giving bad legal advise? There are things missing in this story.

So best bet is to ppt at an ffl with the executor. If not, using this form may or may not trigger a door kick?

I find it hard to believe that the PD had the extra man power to station officers at an estate sale. I've never heard of that before. I have seen private security hired.

Frankly, it appears the buyer and seller committed a misdemeanor -
            26500.

            (a) No person shall sell, lease, or transfer firearms unless the person has been issued a license pursuant to Article 1 (commencing with Section 26700) and Article 2 (commencing with Section 26800) of Chapter 2.

            (b) Any person violating this article is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Couldn't what already occurred have been a "loan" if recipient had FSC, or is that also only between direct family now. So hard to keep track.

That's what I'm thinking, if the friend is none too bright he may have thought security was the PD. Some companies go out of their way to make their guards look like local law enforcement.

Which would explain the bad advice on taking a modern firearm home.
I meant, it is my opinion that...
