First Squib - Done with reloads (Ammo Bros)

Fired up the .45 tonight and ran through a few mags, at about round #25 I felt some odd recoil and the slide got stuck. Dropped the mag, was able to get the slide open, the spent case came out, and saw a nice copper slug sitting in the bore at edge of chamber. So glad I felt something was amiss and stopped shooting to inspect.

Ammo was .45 ACP Ammo Bros Premium Reloads. Purchased (2) 250 round boxes about 10 years ago, this was box #2 and freshly opened. Got rid of the ammo immediately. No more reloads & non-factory ammo for me.

PSA, be super aware of your pistol's recoil and report and err on the side of caution.

And F Ammo Bros reloads.

This can happen with any ammo company. It has happened to federal, Remington etc etc.
Can you get the ammo out of the garbage. I'll take it off your hands.

Luckily the slide got stuck. Cause if your were shooting it semi rapidly and the slide didn't get stuck it could of been worse.

Yes sir I'm glad you were smart enough to notice when you had something that didn't feel right...like the poster above mentioned I've had it happen on factory ammo as well. It's a rare occurrence but one must always have it in the back of their head hey if it doesn't feel right stop and check it out. Good reminder op

Lucky lucky. 45 is a big boom inside a chamber. I always try to keep am eat out for a light load, but you don't hear them all the time. Especially in rapid fire drills.

Exactly how did you do that?

Next time, have a bullet puller handy. Dump the powder onto your lawn; it's good fertilizer. Keep the bo0lits and the primed brass, then sell them to someone... or learn to load your own.

Then what will he do when he loads a squib load. Toss his reloading stuff and f himself? Then go on a forum and complain about himself and how bad he is?

Sorry you had a problem. I have had Win factory rifle ammo that were squibs or FTF over the years. Also had 2 rounds of my reloads FTF and took them apart.............They had the proper amount of powder but bad Win primers. I am NOT knocking Win since I have used many, many thousands of their primers over the years and only had 2 not work. I even tried the ammo in a different rifle and no go.
That is just life.
