Tumey Hill New Hours

Just left Tumey Hill and they have new hours. Can't shoot until 30 minutes after sunrise and must be done by 12 noon. We got there around 11 and about 10 minutes later the park ranger pulled up. He was real cool, but was telling us there had been at least 4 fires started by shooters. People are using metal targets in high grass, all the burnt areas are noticeable. He told us the sheriff would be rolling around shortly and he was right. He was cool also he did check my hex mag for the ar15 because it's the one that looks like a 30 rounder. He let us shoot since we were already set up and had no gun issues. Just a heads up for anyone planning a trip.

The setup takes an hour to do, Unless you leave san jose at 5 am there is no way to set up and take down and have enough time to shoot. especially if you are shooting for distance and needs to check and set up targets far away.

If we weren't already setup, probably wouldn't have been able to shoot. The ranger had just got the signs with the new hours.We got out of there around 1:15 didn't want to be there when the sheriff came back around.
