I was going through all of my dros paperwork and I just realized that one of them had an error. One of the paperwork said "yes" to "convicted of a felony". Thats not true. But when it was time to pick up my firearm, the gun shop released it to me. During the 10 day wait, they would check if I was a felon anyways right, no matter what the dros states? If I was convicted of a felony, I am pretty sure the dros would get rejected and will be receiving a letter stating why. But it was released to me. So should I be worried?

But I guess during background check they saw that I didnt have anything. Right? I'm sure i'm not the only one with this issue or that this is the only gun shop that made a mistake on dros.𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟙 ⋆ 𝓓𝓸𝓭𝓰𝓮 // ⋆ 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🎲 𝓡/𝓣 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓽 𝓟𝓪𝓬𝓴 ⋆ 𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🐝💨💨 𝟛𝟡𝟚 ◾ 𝓗𝓔𝓜𝓘 ◾ 𝟞.𝟜𝓛 ◾ 𝓥𝟠 𝟜𝟠𝟝 𝓗𝓟 ◾ 𝟜𝟟𝟝 𝓛𝓑-𝓕𝓣 ◾ 🇺🇸Comment

If the firearm was released to you there's not a problem...I wouldn't even worry about it. What I would worry about is filling out the simple form accurately next time.NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER

I'd try to go back in and fix it. DOJ auditor might not like that I would think or at the very least question the FFL.
Or maybe call the FFL and ask.Comment

I fill out the form correctly every time. Like you said, its simple. Oh well, I didnt get rejected, phone call, letter or anything stating I was convicted of a felony and will not be able to pick up the gun.𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟙 ⋆ 𝓓𝓸𝓭𝓰𝓮 // ⋆ 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🎲 𝓡/𝓣 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓽 𝓟𝓪𝓬𝓴 ⋆ 𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🐝💨💨 𝟛𝟡𝟚 ◾ 𝓗𝓔𝓜𝓘 ◾ 𝟞.𝟜𝓛 ◾ 𝓥𝟠 𝟜𝟠𝟝 𝓗𝓟 ◾ 𝟜𝟟𝟝 𝓛𝓑-𝓕𝓣 ◾ 🇺🇸Comment

What form EXACTLY had this error? The basic form that you fill out is the 4473. You usually do not get a copy of that.
The basic form the dealer fills out is the DROS, on a computer using DES. You usually will get a copy of that.
Some dealers add their own checklists and forms to the process, anything from a safe affidavit, dealer terms and conditions, return policies, prep checklists for completing the DROS etc. You may or may not get copies of those.
So on which form do you see this error? It is possible that this error was never even transmitted anywhere as part of the transfer process.Comment

Keep in mind that while you fill out a paper copy, the dealers enters the information on line electronically. Even if there was an error on the paper copy, (which stays with the dealer) the electronic copy send to DOJ is the one used to check eligibility. It appears the dealer filled out the on line copy correctly.Last edited by 003; 07-27-2017, 9:24 AM.Comment

As a FFL I can tell you this kind of error does happen. When we are inputting the information in the DROS form the questions are answered by checking a box. From time to time the wrong box get checked.
When this happens CADOJ will call us and ask us if we marked you a felon or whatever else was marked wrong or if we made a mistake. Everyone laughs then they release the background. The reason they call is NO FFL will submit a DROS on someone we know is prohibited, so it's always a mistake. Although the DROS is clear the check box stays but is just disregarded.
Once I marked every question yes. Even worse it was one of my local homicide detective. I still get crap about it from the PD.
You, you, and you: Panic. The rest of you, come with me.
Incoming fire has the right of way.

I filled out all the required paperwork prior to purchasing the gun correctly. I am not sure the names of the forms required. When the lgs did the dros, he gave me a copy of the dros which I noticed there was the error.𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟙 ⋆ 𝓓𝓸𝓭𝓰𝓮 // ⋆ 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🎲 𝓡/𝓣 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓽 𝓟𝓪𝓬𝓴 ⋆ 𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓻 ⋆ 🐝💨💨 𝟛𝟡𝟚 ◾ 𝓗𝓔𝓜𝓘 ◾ 𝟞.𝟜𝓛 ◾ 𝓥𝟠 𝟜𝟠𝟝 𝓗𝓟 ◾ 𝟜𝟟𝟝 𝓛𝓑-𝓕𝓣 ◾ 🇺🇸Comment

You got the gun, you're good to go. As screwed up as the government is, they're not going to change your criminal status to a felon in the database just from a DROS form.Comment
