Just did a DROS at Turners on a g22 gen 4 LE trade in. Good to excellent condition, zero holster ware, metal night sights, extremely smooth trigger, extended slide release and internals almost look new. Anyone have experience with LE trade ins? Any issues to worry about? They just got four in and they are all in really good condition.

Are you roster exempt? That's the only way you got a Gen4 G22 TradeIn, so I'm wondering why you wouldn't just get a brand new Gen 4 blue label for $25 more?Last edited by SkyHawk; 07-25-2017, 6:40 PM.Comment

Hmm, still not making sense though - so are you not a roster exempt buyer?
Four of them show up on consignment, for $399? I seriously doubt it. More like Gen 3 if we are guessing at the error in the OP description, or a mistake by a gun store employee soon to be uncovered by management or DOJ, resulting in a no-sale/rejected DROS. A LE agency cannot consign guns and those guns still be transferred to a buyer as a roster exempt PPT.
Since OP says he did a layaway, there is no DROS yet so we can't ask him to tell us what the transaction type says on the buyers copy of the DROS. And if a layaway was done because OP is currently in a 1-in-30 holding pattern, that reinforces this sale coming from dealer inventory which means OP must be LE/roster exempt to buy if it is a Gen 4.Last edited by SkyHawk; 07-25-2017, 7:51 PM.Comment

I still have a few days left before I hit 30 days because of a handgun purchase less than 30 days ago. So I had to put it on layaway.Comment

stitchnicklas. Does yours have the cutout at the bottom of the grip to stick your finger in and pull the mag out in case of a double feed not allowing you to drop the mag?Comment

Thank you for the clarification
Now that we have established what gun we are talking about, I still think it is a good deal. They are a little cheaper up here in Norcal, $349 - $369 but probably not as clean as what you guys are getting.
I have seen and handled a few of them (LE Trade) on the local range after folks bought them, and they run great. The only time I have seen a problem is when a new owner takes them apart and then puts them back together incorrectly, usually munging the slide lock spring. Then the slide locks backs every couple of shots. It is an easy fix and can be fixed on the spot in minutes.
I would have no reservations about LE trade Glock or any used Glock for that matter. They are reliable and factory service parts are widely available and cheap.Last edited by SkyHawk; 07-25-2017, 8:16 PM.Comment
