I just purchased an CMMG 8.2" .300Blkout SBR and a new AA 762 SDN-6 suppressor. And I did all the purchasing from inside the Iron Curtain. Course, I'll be picking them up in Free America, but at least I did the deed on commie soil. Fork the Socialist politicians and their whack *** laws.

According to the cat helping me, around four months. But for a NFA newbie, I'll take it compared to absolutey never (cept for FFL's with the appropriate licenses) here in Cali.

Damn! Well, it will be worth it. I'm based out of Mesa right now. Still in CA working at the spot you sent the firearm that I got from you. Just waiting for the contract to finish. At some point, I'm going to have to talk to you about full-auto purchasing and the in's and out's of doing it.

There was a glut of transfers prior to 41F that have all kinds of paperwork to look at prior to approval so stuff I submitted last Jun and July are taking forever. I'm getting September and November transfers lately so the bottleneck is clearing out. New trusts seem to be getting approved faster than amended ones. I've seen them approved in 1 month so anything is possible.

I purchased first. The FFL is sending me a package with the ATF forms and fingerprint cards. I'll get fingerprinted and passport photos here in Cali, and send in everything to the ATF at an address supplied by the FFL. Then I sit back and wait...and buy lots of .300BLK ammo which I'll ship to my spot in AZ.

I didn't do mine through a trust. I'll probably end up doing one someday.

But the silencer is still probably going to be a year or so. Friend of mine is still waiting on one he started a year ago June.

NFA stuff always gets paid for first. Serial number has to go on the paper work and I've never heard of a seller that didn't want cash upfront. Every once in awhile for expensive machine guns that are like $20k they'll let you pay half up front, but that's rare. Worst case for them is a year later their machine gun is worth a couple grand more.

A trust is crucial for machine guns. Even if you have no family or friends that can own it just add on any dealer you want so if oyu die in a car accident or something else that gun won't become non transferable. I've seen a few MGs lose full transfer status because the owner died. I have several relatives in different states on my trust just in case the wife and I die at the same time. My kid is not old enough to be on the trust.

When you are ready for a trust contact Trent Woods in Mesa. He is the go to lawyer in the Phoenix area. I get nothing for recommending him but he is always helping the community out here.
