    Sight install

Trying to get new sights on gun. Is there a need to file sight to fit or just push with sight pusher?

Dawson give u an aluminum punch but could only get front to go in half way.

Each gun and sight manufacturer you'll experience different hurdles....some go right in and some need a little fitting. It also depends on the method you are using to install the sights.

I use a mgw sight pusher it's effortless and well worth the purchase if you have multiple handguns....I got the universal pusher and it's pretty spectacular

2nd what The Shootist said. Don't cheap out with imitation sight pushers, which is what I did, in the beginning and learned my lesson due to difficulty and marring. I ended up coughing the $ and bought the universal MGW sight pusher...I should've bought it right off the bat.

one thing i just noticed. The front dawson sight has an arrow pointing to install it from left to right but what i've been reading is you install the sight from the right (ejection port side). sight base measure .260 both ends
          which is right?
The rear has arrow pointing installation is from right to left which is correct as the measurements are .465 & .475

I had to lightly file some Amiglo Idot sights yesterday so they would drift onto my G19. I hit the edge with 4 or 5 small strokes and that was all it needed. Well that and a touch of oil.
