    Range Bag Options?

So I've finally reached that point where I'm tired of using my everyday back pack for the range

Can anyone recommend a range bag? Not really looking for a backpack, but rather a mid size bag with a carry handle and lots of pockets to hold everything

    Much appreciated
And pictures would be very helpful

The large Midway one works well.......as does the 511 brand.

The main "Midway" bag at Midway USA is probably the most versatile. The design is so proven that it's copied and you'll find it on Shooters Connection under different brand name.

On SC you'll find range bags that people use in competitions. It's smaller selection, but it's pretty much "who's who" of competition range bags.

Midway had a sale on some less popular colors a few months back and I got a cammo pattern large bag at half price. It is now my cleaning bag and I can have all the supplies in one bag now, instead of having several different smaller ones.

The Springfield Armory give away range bags are actually pretty nice. 5.11 makes some nice ones too. I believe Grey Ghost Gear makes some too.

Check out the latest sale items at Discount Gun Mart in San Diego and Santee. They have two Flambeau range bags on sale now. Here's the link to the PDF of the ad:DGM August Parking Lot Sale PDF.

I won one similar to this (a little larger, OD Green) in a sweepstakes, but it's a little much for a couple of pistols (and the associated sundry accessories one takes to the range).

Get one larger than you think you need.

I get that, room to grow and all that jazz. Thoughts on the Plano? Rigid boxes do make it hard to expand should my needs grow.

+1 for the Midway competition bag. I wouldn't get one much heavier. When that things loaded up with guns, gear and ammo it starts to get pretty heavy. I'd guess I've had mine up to 50 lbs. or so.
