Upgraded Glock Barrels?

I'll offer an opinion, nothing based on fact or any tests or trials.

I'd say that a trigger tuning or upgrade would go much further in improving a Glock's performance, vs spending any money on the barrel.

The only thing to accomplish in replacing the barrel is to perhaps get standard rifling so that one could shoot lead bullets.

What would your goal be, in replacing the barrel?

I was only going after better accuracy. I have already had some trigger work done.

it seems that it would be a combination of barrel and ammo which would effect the accuracy.

The only real advantage to an aftermarket Glock barrel is the ability to use soft lead bullets, since Glocks have polygonal rifling. While it is perfectly safe to shoot soft lead out of a Glock, it will require significantly more detailed clearing to get the lead out.

As far as accuracy goes, if shooting a 3-4 inch group at 50 yards as opposed to a 4-5 group is an issue for you, then you may be a candidate for an after market barrel.

This! I bought a Lone Wolf barrel to run lead reloads. Missed the boat for a 40-9 conversion barrel for my Glock 35.

I don't think installing an aftermarket barrel alone will improve accuracy. I suspect that the barrel needs to be fitted to the slide and locking block for a tighter lockup if you want to see a difference in accuracy, and even then, I would question the amount of improvement you'll see.

In most cases, myself included, the pistol is far more accurate out of the box than the shooter is capable of utilizing...

I'm not sure there is an accuracy benefit for me. I'm not a superior shooter in the first place, but I am a re-loader. So.. I put Storm Lake barrels in all my Glocks. they work fine: drop in Mod.
