Colt Python Hunter & Halliburton Aluminum Case

My 'gun shop employee youngest son,' John, called me the other day and told me to come
down right away. I asked him what was so important. He said, "Come now - and
bring your check book! Sounded important.

Seems a guy brought in quite a revolver, and after the store buys it to make a little profit,
they offer it to any interested employees. Fortunately, often most of the employees are
often strapped for cash and most are young usually only interested in semi-autos!

$1200 later, we had a 1981 (only year of production) Colt Python Hunter, 8" factory
M8 Leupold 2X scoped revolver, complete with it's Halliburton aluminum lock type
case and other various original goodies within the case. Total production was 2,400.
Condition is 98%-99%. We're not sure it's ever been fired.

When this gets out, I've got a feeling it's going to be borrowed some.

Someone from a free state once told me one of the reasons CA laws are ridiculous is because they banned the Colt Python and it was the best handgun ever made.

    Are they actually legal?

Sorry I can't help you but it is a real nice looking revolver.

It's probably worth an easy $1400.

Colt Pythons are legal, only 6" versions, Also Colt no longer manufactures the Pythons, so if you do get a chance to own one I recommend it

I have one myself, its very nice, I'm a better shot with it than my 1911
Got my Utah CCW, Thanks JimAmentler!

No, they're not. The only approved Python is the Python Elite in stainless steel. It is not the same as an older blued Python. The 13060CS isn't even a normal production gun either, it's not on their website and it's considered Custom Shop. Good look finding one brand new. The last time I ordered one, the customer waited nearly 2 years for his. +EDIT: And after it arrived, it wasn't all that. Sure, they're nice, but certainly not up to the quality that Colt used to produce. If only US Firearms would produce a Python...

$1299, in very good shape, with same scope and case. But it was on the shelf less than 12 hours; before an employee placed it in the safe for his brother to buy. But then, that was just this week, seems much too coincidental for you to not be referring to the exact same revolver I am.

Yes. Just can't be sold new as Dealer Sale anymore. And in reality, Colt isn't making much of anything, they're on their way to being out of business and producing far fewer new handguns than they are claiming.
