Favorite LGS With Best Prices?

What's the best way to buy a new gun in California? The winning combination of low price and satisfactory customer service?
I'm feeling this may be a sensitive topic. I'm all for supporting the local gun store in California. One of my local shops is having a "huge sale" and their prices with the discount are now approaching another local shop's everyday prices. The local shop with the best prices is usually $50-$75 higher than Gun Gallery, until you factor in the FFL fee (lowest I can find is $75 which includes DROS). Then, buying via Gun Gallery is about the same. I would rather shop the local store doing face-to-face transactions for the same if even slightly higher price, because of the relationship I have established there. Although, Gun Gallery ships to a local shop, and I think the shop must benefit somehow (beyond the fees they charge for facilitating the transaction).
Besides the very valid argument that it is best to support the local LGS, I'm not sure some folks want to let others on to their "secret" source (PM encouraged!) But like many consumers, I do not want to overpay at a shop for the same product. I have done that already, and it doesn't feel very satisfying (except that I supported a local Mom&Pop gun store that California will likely push out of business with the way things are going in this glorious state).
So are there any recommendations besides the ones I have noted (that you are willing to share)?

By that, I meant local shops and Gun Gallery. I have purchased guns from Triple A's Sporting Goods in Vallejo (best local face-to-face prices), Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) in Vacaville (okay selection, good prices, and great staff), and Guns Fishing And Other Stuff (GFOS) in Vacaville (great selection but pricey unless (like now) they are having a "sale" that brings prices down to the same as the other stores). GFOS gets bad reviews from some, but I like the staff there that I've dealt with.
I hope I have redeemed myself!

Two best ones I know of are Bullseye in riverside and west coast Ammo in Temecula. Both awesome shops

Shop a lot at Wild-Sports in Orangevale. Great ammo deals and good prices on guns as well. Also shop at River City Gun Exchange and The Range in Sacramento. All good!

Edit: just picked up three boxes of Blazer .45 acp for 10 bucks each at Wild-Sports. Unfortunately they apply a per visit limit of three boxes.

Wow, that was a long-winded way of asking "what's a good shop in ___ area"

In Sacramento area, I like The Gun Range, River City, Armory Outpost, Shootin' Shack, Placer Tactical (appt only). There's also Golden State Tactical, he's a home-based FFL, I've never used him but he gets lots of positive comments.

And there's no hush hush secret handshake stuff about which shops are good. It's not a fishing spot.

If you are near northern bay area i would recommend Todd & Amy Arms & Ammo for sure out of Petaluma. There a small shop- maybe not the best- but they want to compete.

Was looking for the illusive 2nd gen 6.5 rem 5-r, they quoted me a few dollars over 1000.

Tried b-2 enterprises in Cotati over 1400 pluss tax n fees. They will price match locally, but screw em- msrp is 1250

Go figure, I'm tired of these gougers...

Now only if i can get one, there unavailable Atm, put me on the list.. haha

There are probably a number of local stores in the Bay Area with good prices. Heck I saw a RIA 1911 Match in the display case at Red Skull in Milpitas for $699. I don't think I ever saw one of those local, only online and I would say the price is very fair because I believe it's same price as I have seen online.

A lot of gun stores in your local area probably have good prices but it might just depend on what you are looking for. Some people are looking for handguns, others are looking for revolvers or rifles. Other people like consignments and c&r stuff. Each store may have their own specialty, just gotta go around and look.

There's only one gun shop within a mile from where I live. I support them even when I can save a few bucks buying from the next nearest ones which are at least 10 miles away.
