Bullet button 2 - no go for me.

Has anyone else tried using the BB2? I put one in over the weekend and was not impressed. Having to open the action to do a mag change is annoying but might be OK to avoid registration. That said, not being able to remove the mag when there is a round in the chamber without opening the action was totally uncool. Clearing a double feed was not fun. I had to reach through the ejection port to push the 2nd round back into the mag with the bolt back and a round in the chamber. Neither was it fun using the charging handle to jack remaining rounds out of the mag when they called cease fire. I also manage to drop the bolt carrier on the ground while manipulating the rifle with the action open.

Yea, fin grips it is for me. Safety over ergonomics, ever time.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

That whole regressive deal with having to open up the action to change a mag was always a retarded work-around solution to me. I'd never do that. Just go "featureless". There are many featureless options more acceptable than that, and you get to use a standard mag release. No registration required.

With an extended pin it as actually easier to reload since they removed the needing a tool deal. But clearly, the way AR15 sales have come to a near stand still, I'd say this new law killed it. Sales are pitiful for featureless or BB 2.0 ARs. At this point, I'd say CA did it. They made it a big enough inconvenience. They didn't have to stop the sale of them, just make it a big enough inconvenience.

Is that actually confirmed true that you can remove the BB if you're featureless? I thought the regulations were yet to be published and the last draft the DOJ wanted to make it mandatory to leave the BB in place.

Hence, until the next iteration of the regulations are published by DOJ, I didn't think we actually knew if that was copacetic.

Featureless have NEVER needed a bullet button.. that has nothing to do with the new laws..

Think Mini-14 ... has a regular mag release, always has.

                      Well, obviously...

The CA public safety committee thinks it is best to fiddle with your action while the mag with the ammo is in the gun... they am smrt.

You should check Riflegear's inventory. Many are out of stock:

You're mixing up apples and oranges. If its featureless, it will not be registered as an AW.
