I bought the exact model 2600KP for $117 on Ebay last month.....from Woodbury Outfitters, WHO COINCIDENTLY IS LISTED ON THE EBAY $20 OFF $100 SALE (special sellers only) THAT IS GOING ON THRU TODAY. YOU MIGHT CHECK THE PRICE AVAILABLE

It's a heavy duty 14ga steel, probably the thickest steel of any similar portable.

The opening mech works great on all methods: combination keypad, keys, wristband, key fob, or stickers on a cell phone.

Mine went in the truck center console, Velcroed the back to the wall so it stands up.... of course it has the steel cable connector to the seat frame.

          ***** 5 stars

NOTE: The one "ely" linked to is the 2700, which is larger and does not have the combination keypad method available to open

For that money get something that doesn't rely on batteries.

I have the Rapid-Safe I like mine a lot. I have one up stairs and one down stairs. Both are programmed to two wrist bands, one for me and one for the wife. They are a bit expensive but worth every penny.

I wasn't aware there were non electronic quick access options available.

OP, I use a Stack On finger print model bedside. It's a bit cheaper than the Hornady brand, but I think it accomplishes the task in that it keeps honest hands out no quick access safe is going to keep criminals out for long, but that's not it's role. My big nice safe is the tough one, the stack on houses my Glock 23 for access in a pinch.

The Hornady also opens with a key....the batteries allow for electronic combination, wristband, key fob, or cell phone sticker.

I have one. It works great except the sticker doesnt work with thick iphone case and the wristband doesnt want to register. I only use the code, key, keyfob and stickers. Worth every penny.

I have the 2700 model, it really is awesome compared to all the other micro safes that I have and is by far the thickest/heaviest.

Idk what caused it but I went to retrieve my pistol this evening using the key fob and it would not open. A green light in the center that I have not seen before appeared. I had my other rfid device nearby and used it just like normal. Had it been a serious situation I would have been sol...just an fyi
