TSA Approved Case That Will Fit AR Pistol

    Hi,

Any suggestions for a cheap TSA approved gun case that will fit a disassembled AR pistol?

I have a ton of soft rifle bags and cheap plastic cases that are enough for me when transporting them via car to the range etc. I really don't want or need an expensive Pelican case that will spend most of it's life in the closet.

Any suggestions appreciated. I need it to arrive by Saturday, my flight is on Sunday.

    Thanks.

    If you have Amazon Prime...
    Plano 36" case.

Cheap?....like something that will fall apart during the automated baggage destruction process?
Go out and find a Pelican/Storm or similar heavy duty case, a pair of decent non-TSA locks, and rest easier on the plane.

You don't mention your max length (how long is your upper assy?)

Personally, I don't do cheap when it comes to public transport of my firearms.
Shop Hard Cases from Pelican, 5.11, Plano and more. We have Rifle Cases and Pistol Cases for Police Officers, SWAT, and Tactical Teams. Competitive Shooters will also find a TSA Approved Rifle or Pistol Case here.

Any reason you want to transport your pistol outside of your luggage?
        Another possibility is a Pelican 1470 Case W Foam, Inside Dimensions: 15 3/4" L x 10 9/16" W x 3 3/4" D and it doesn't scream gun!

To me, super cheap in terms of quality are these:

I do not plan on using those for air transport.......ever.

The purpose of my post is to try and find a cheaper alternative to Pelican. I do not travel via air often with firearms, this will be my first time. I do not want to buy a Pelican case when it will most likely spend the rest of it's life in a closet only to be used 1 or 2 more times in the next 10 years for air travel.

Buy once, cry once. And not because your firearm was damaged.

if the pelican spends the rest of its life in a closet then you're not shooting enough. and a ton of canvas bags = one pelican case that could fit two or three rifles. Check Craigslist. They're there all the time. Also check the musical instruments section because keyboard cases work just as well.

Don't even think about using those. Airlines will refuse to accept them as they are too easy to get into. Had to go buy a case from Alaskan Airlines and take that one back to the truck. Good thing I got to the airport early.

I have been using that Plano case successfully since then.

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

Don't rely solely on the internal built in locks.
                            Supplement them with two padlocks.
