    broken shoulder

as shared i another thread i was the victim of road rage and rear ended at 35+mph. on my motorcycle.

I am right handed and can no longer hold in my right hand nor rack the slide while holding in my right or left hand any of my semi auto pistols.

i have temporarily switched over to revolvers.

i need to go to the range and practice off hand shooting.

has anyone else had this problem?

it there an effective way to chamber a round?

Boot or belt on the rear sight.

Sorry to hear about your injuries you're fortunate to be alive and I hope your injuries aren't perm.
I had a similar incident 8 months ago with two young men in a BMW intentionally forced me into a center island around the same speed. The result was road rash to lower back, Broke a bone in right hand, and a concussion. Of course they fled the scene and were never caught. Heal well

Most ranges will not allow muzzle racking without gun pointed down range...not easily accomplished within most ranges rules...best wishes on recovery.

If you give revolvers a chance you may be surprised.if 6-8 .357 don't get -er-done 14 9mm probably won't either. That said in '70 or '80 ( yep I'm an old fart ) a accident to my right hand the week before a match forced me to go lefty and to my surprise after learning I had to close my dominant right eye I did quite well.

Must be hard for lefties to load a revolver since it opens up on the left side.

My Baby Eagle allows for one handed rack with ease. Might look into finding one.

2010 I broke my neck and shattered my left humorous, also tore the ligaments from the carpals in my right hand in a MC crash. It took a couple of years before I could bear the pain of shooting again. Started back with Airgun Field Target and Benchrest. Had a second surgery to remove the 26 pieces of hardware in my left arm. Still can't lift it above shoulder level but got enough strength back to rack a slide. The right hand is still a problem. The trigger pull of a Revo aggravates it, as does recoil when I don't keep my hand and wrist in the right position.

It takes lots of time to recover and learn new ways to cope with the injury and deal with the on going pain. A couple of days ago a lady overheard my conversation while standing in line at a grocery store. She suggested I look into Active Release therapy and find someone that has obtained a master level. I looked at active release.com and found a guy near by. Haven't contacted him yet, but looks like it's an option to unlock my shoulder. There are also several you tubes of how do some techniques yourself. Been trying them and they have helped.

It's been 5 weeks now post accident. My chest, bicep, tricep, lat, trapezes are all mush.
Physical therapy hurts. The humidity sucks and I haven't slept through the night in 5 weeks.
                            Range of motion is poor.
The good news is I do have 90% range of motion in the pool. I love hydrotherapy.
I bought a deer tag hoping to take that one shot between October and November.
The worst is feeling the scar tissue/bone rub on the inside of my ball joint. I
                            broke the ball.
                            I think/hope in 60 days I can hunt.

                              Sorry off topic
A.R.T. is pretty incredible. I had tendinitis in my achilles tendon.....turned out an injury to my calf from m/c rearset was giving me tendinitis in my achilles. Anyways, he worked the calf (extremely painful), and got the scar tissue/knot thing worked out and fixed it up. Pain in my ankle went away, and my calf is way better too.
