Active Junky Cashback Question

So I used AJ to order through Natchez. AJ stated 3% Cash Back. Natchez's website displayed a 10% off promo code which I used to check out.

I got an e-mail confirmation pretty quickly that my order went through AJ but when I looked at the % back it was under 1%.

Normally I wouldn't be that irked but my order was close to $1k so sub-1% vs 3% makes enough of a difference for me to care.

I submitted a ticket to AJ and this is the response I got:

"Thank you for response. The reason your order was denied was because you used a promo code that wasn't on our site. Please let me know if you have any other questions."

I do this all the time; I use a retailer's promo code as well as AJ and it always works, this is the first time I've had an issue.

What has your experience been? Is anybody aware that if they use a promo code on a retailer's website that it may nullify their AJ cash back???

I responded back questioning the decision and just received an update:

"I apologize for the confusion. I have reached out to the vendor to get the correct amount bonused to your account."

Looks like it may turn out to be credited back to my account.
