    Blocking Mags

I'm flying into Seattle in a month to go to a funeral in CA. I want to block some USGI mags whiles I'm there. Since I'm flying, I can't bring a drill. I was going to use a magblock, however they're costly at 5$ each. What are the other ways to making them permanent? I was looking into a way where I don't need a drill, mainly epoxy. I saw an article where I guy used some bic pens to block them and epoxied the base plate. How would I do this with 20 rounders, because I prefer them over 30 rounders? I assume I could cut pieces of wood here, and shove them in... how long would i cut them?

Ship the regular mags to your cousin, and just buy some 10 rounders. Much less trouble.

You'll be able to sell them here on Calguns for nearly what you pay. Why are you flying to Seattle to go to a funeral in CA?

It's cheaper to fly into Seattle and rent a car to drive to Vancouver... Canada. Sorry for the confusion.

I like USGI mags primarily, because they drop out of my rifle a lot easier. I see the 10/30 and 10/20 going for 20$. I figure I can get some for 10$ there, and block them and save money.

You can put a drill in your checked luggage.

Plan on having 9 round mags going into this project, or 10 round mags that will not insert on a closed bolt. You can make 10rd mags that will insert on a closed bolt with GI mags, because their stiff metal feed lips will not allow an 11th round to be forced in even allowing for the slack you need for the bolt, but it is a matter of a half-millimeter here or there - too much slack and someone can force or even simply insert another round.

Not easy to get right without trial and error. The problem is we are talking small caliber rounds with a wide stack. The price for getting it wrong could be a criminal rap sheet.

And I recommend the mag blocks, although they still need to be tuned to final length if you want the perfect 10rd mag.
