Is this a video still from an old movie or TV show?
I ask because Way back when the real working AK style rifles were hard to get Hollywood would substitute the Finnish made Valmet rifles (hoping no one would notice the difference which they usually didn't back then.)
They might've gone the extra mile of making new wood furniture front and rear or painted wood coloring on something that was available back then.
Just my theory... worth two cents.Comment

Yup, that "wood" furniture, with the upswept rear wood stock matches a plastic one that Valmet made...
Look at those old prices!
I don't know if I'd spend a whole $10 extra bucks to get the Delux or not.

I'll take points for the assist though.
And I do find it all interesting.
I wonder if in the 80s Hollywood still had Valmets in their toy chest filling in for AKs, rather than buying new Russian built ones.Comment

What, did he just come from the dry cleaners?
Also I contacted Valmet about that old three rifle advertisement of theirs and they said they would honor those old prices.
