I do a fair bit of training with civilian friends who are interested in self defense, and just for fun.
After seeing this video:
Of a police shooting requiring lightning fast decision making in the moment, I got to thinking about using videos like this in training to help civilians understand how hard it is to be a cop. The scenario I'm picturing is during a dry fire session, after working some accuracy and speed drills from the holster, putting someone in a scenario, for this example saying:
"You're a cop in Alabama and you've just received a call of an erratic driver on the freeway swerving all over the place. You roll up and see a semi-truck on the shoulder with this SUV parked behind it...."
and then playing the video and seeing what they choose to do and when.
You could obviously follow this up with videos of actual gunfights, where suspects get the drop on officers, and demonstrate how quickly these situations can become the worst day of the cop's life.
Anybody seen any video compilations or YouTube playlists I could use to do something like this?
