10 dollar steel rack

My kids bought me a nice 12 x .5 ar500 plate. I'm cheap and a plumber so thought I'd build a rack.
Cost of fittings less pipe was 8 plus tax. 3/4 for the crossbar. 1/2 inch legs. The cap will tighten the tee which will hold the leg. I tried some short pieces I had to see if it will work. I think I'm going to use 1/2 x 66 and 1/2 x 72. Nice as it collapse for easy storage.

Not sure. Planning on hanging the plate. 50 to 100 yards with 223 and pistols.

Just wanted to share with folks. Seen some designs on Google. Buy none had the adjustability I was looking for.

2 x 3/4 x 1/2 x 1/2 tee
2 x 3/4 x 1/2 tee
2 x 1/2 x 3 inch nipple
2 caps.
Cross bar is 3/4
Legs 1/2 inch.
Steel hung by clothes hanger or bungee. Lol

Buy an assortment of EPDM straps for hanging the gong...

They take a lot of hit and fragments before they break

Bring gloves for set up and take down as bullet jackets can be very sharp

That wire won't hold up that gong for long....hell, heavy chain wouldn't do the job for long with rifle rounds.

You'll need strips of fire hose or conveyer belt.....maybe tire.

Otherwise.....looks good!

Great work. I have a similar setup with some salvaged black pipe. One change I made that works for me is that I use a three way fitting for 1/2" pipe that they sell for canopies. It hat screw in screw down fittings so you don't have to thread the ends together.
