    Questions for Trainers

I'm hoping to get more involved with training, particularly if I can find ways to bring people into shooting that would not otherwise try it. That brings up the large problem of reaching potential students, as well as all the usual problems of finding a location and so on.

I'd like some suggestions on how people have successfully brought women and/or young people into classes, particularly if you've had success in reaching people who would never go into a gun shop on their own or otherwise get themselves into shooting without help and encouragement.

What do you need guns for if you are going to send your children, seven hours a day, 180 days a year to government schools? What do you need the guns for at that point?-- R. C. Sproul, Jr. (unconfirmed)

Try a neighborhood watch meeting. Talk about the rising vilolent crime rate and the lack of resources LE has to prevent such crime and you'll have their attention. Now they have a reason to get involved with their own self defence.

Then, Sir, we will give them the bayonet! (Stonewall Jackson's reply to Colonel B.E. Bee when he reported that the enemy were beating them back. At the first battle of Bull Run, July 1861)
