HK 45 or HK 45 Compact

I have the P30 and P30sk, with the VP9 and VP9sk on the way. I am considering adding the HK 45 to complete the collection (9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP), however I'm torn between the full size model and the compact. I absolutely love the ergo and grip on the HK firearms, but they didn't put that style of grip on the 45 compact.

So... as a matter of opinion... do I get the full size HK 45 for the grip, or get the compact model for the smaller size and ability to carry it at work?

    Thank you for your input!

I've got an HK 45C (to go with a few other HKs) and really like it---I choose the 45C over the full-size because I've already got a full-size USP 45 and wanted something smaller...

I have a 45 USPc and an HK45. Except for the finger groves the diameter is about the same. Even the magazines from the hk45 will work in the USPc.

So the grip feel of the HK45C is the same as the full size?

HK 45C will work for those with smaller hands. It is my EDC.

The point I was trying to make is you don't have to wait and then pay a king's ransom for an HK45c when the grip size of the available now USPc is quite similar. I don't notice any difference.

I don't have a C, but the HK45 is a very sweet shooting gun. I regularly trade off from the P30's and don't find the grip difference to be significant - I really don't notice.

Just a side note, I have a Blackhawk Serpa holster for my HK45. The rig is meant for the P30, but works with the HK45. Of course that doesn't say anything about the grip size.

Agreed. I'd rather have 2-3 apples than 1 Orange though.

Well, are 2-3 rotten apples better than a perfect orange?

I shot my brother's HK45 full size and it is a good shooter, but is large. I ended up getting the 45c instead and it's my most common CCW. After shooting mine, my brother ended up with one too. I don't regret passing on the full size.

                            You have P30 and P30SK.

                            A VP9 and VP9SK.

                            Why delay the inevitable?

                              Both! That's what I did.
