Consumer Rights - New CA Ammo Law?

Isn't there a problem with the new California Ammunition Law and affecting Consumer Rights and the freedom to purchase online?

There is an issue on the banning of use of higher-capacity magazines (more than 10 rounds) - and is there a fight for the consumer against the new ammo law in CA?

What freedom to purchase online? Exactly what right are you taking about? Where in the Constution or other law's does it say anyone must be allowed to buy anything online?

You can still buy online, you just have to have shipped to an ammo vendor who will run the background check before you can pick it up. This is the same as New York.

Or you can get your C&R and COE and still have it shipped directly to your home address.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

Wonder how much shops will charge to ship it to them though, 30 bucks per order?

If any mail order seller will accept those credentials. Jury is still out on that one with a number of sellers stating that they will only deliver to an FFL-01 after January.

I suspect that the out-of-state vendors will only ship to FFL-01 after January. The litigation risk is too high.

Midway has confirmed they will. They just need the copy of the FFL03 first. In Illinois, one needs a FOID card to buy online and have ammo shipped to home. Many places still ship to residents of Illinois after they send a copy of their FOID card.

Some will not but others will. As some see others making a profit on the CA market, they will join in.

Plus tax. They are going to collect sales tax on the whole deal.

Do we know yet if receiving customer ammo shipments will be required of Ammunition Vendors (as PPTs are for 01 FFLs), or will it be optional? Will the fee be set by the state or is it at the vendor's discretion?

I can foresee many smaller operations not having the time/space to deal with it and simply opting out if possible.
Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.

Expect prices to rise toward MSRP - there is a major competitive pressure (Internet sales) that is being removed. Then add in tax and fees for processing the transfer.

Not if the prices rise. The cost of processing the transfer is going to be passed on to the customer. Add in the extra margin on the sale, and gun shops will make more room available for ammunition.
