Generally I would say they are over priced and not very helpful.
sigpicIf you loan someone twenty dollars and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I have been in there before and they had a sign out side that said "Nothing new, Same high prices". Their sign was right.

Is this true? It sounds to much like a joke so I want to confirm that they actually had this sign out. If so, they sure suck hard.

            I dunno.

I sold an AR to a buddy down south and he used Big John's to complete the transfer. I talked with the staff and they seemed cool enough and everything went smooth.

Now mind you I didn't purchase from them and I haven't been in their store, but judging from what I did deal with them on I'd consider checking them out for a purchase.

I live in Yucaipa and have bought a couple of guns from them and they have always been friendly and talkative. The sign does say nothing new same high prices but it's just a joke, their prices don't seem out of line to me.Today the sign said glocks, sigs and xds in stock.

Walked into Big Johns Saturday with my ruger catalog to ask why the sp101 hammerless .357 was not on the LIST? just so happens had one on consignment, chromed great shape and a ok price. Paper work took 10 mins and almost forgot to get some ammo, but guy reminded me and pick a couple of boxes of 38sp and a box of .357 They have a 2 box policy which is great so everyone can at least shoot once in awhile. It is $$$ but they do have ammo. The sale people have always been very helpful and they have a decent selection of guns, rifles and shotguns. For some reason they have an 11 day waiting period, forgot to ask why, was just excited they had the ccw I've wanted. Will get back to the board latter as why?

Most places are doing the "11 day" waiting period now. It's basically because that way they can make sure that the full 10 day period has passed. It's called C.Y.A. (cover your ***). There have been times where the waiting period started at 4:30pm on Saturday and the buyer comes back on the 10th day and picks up the firearm at 11 a.m.. The FULL ten days has not completed even though the calender say it's the tenth day after paperwork was completed. Shops and FFL's can get into to deep doo doo over that kinda stuff.
