"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country."

The same place my relatives in Germany get their guns, from eastern Europe. Without border controls, they take a drive, buy on the black market that is very open and the police ignore because they are being paid to ignore it, and then drive them back.
They live in the former East Germany so they remember what it was like to live unarmed under communist rule. My wife's uncle built an underground shooting range on his farm that my FIL and MIL visited two years ago on their last trip to Germany. It is concealed under their barn. His close friends and relatives have been using it for years.
My FIL asked him what about being a good German and following the rules. His response was the politicians pretend to be useful by passing laws and us peasants pretend to follow the laws while we do what we want. As long as we do not draw attention to ourselves and pretend to follow the laws, the police and politicians can pretend we are not breaking the laws. It is the German way. You only follow the law when others are watching.Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.
A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.
Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

Kinda like me and my parents should as a kid. Say yes sir, yes mam, then go and do what I wanted. My FIL asked him what about being a good German and following the rules. I know many people that when I tell them of the "new laws" this is pretty much their response. They don't care and feel like if they keep a low profile nobody will bother them. The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.Comment
