They made their mark making 1911 clones.

Making Glock clones fits their strategy perfectly.

1911's used to be the top selling semi-auto.

Now Glocks are the top selling semi-auto.

So they make inexpensive clones of both. Makes perfect sense to me.

As mentioned in another thread, the Glock patents must have expired as everyone is making a near clone.

If they're going after Glock, it better not have one single malf amongst all the reviewers who get their hand on one.

I'd guess they're going after the same kind of market they sell their 1911s to: Folks who would rather have the original but can't afford it, or those who want to have one around to plink with once in a while for the near-thing experience.

I've never owned a Glock, but if this came out cheap enough I might be tempted, for the second reason. By cheap enough I mean it'd have to be less than a nice used original.

But then again, what if the parts are interchangeable? If these go for ~$300, then for those people (elsewhere) who want a home-built, you could buy one of these just to strip the parts for your Polymer 80 frame. It'd be cheaper than even used Glock parts, and you could turn around and trade the frame for a Happy Meal.
