Rock island armory's brand new pistol design looks a little familiar.

And I'm not sure about the name
    " SF9 " either
(They should've picked an made-up word like Glack, Gaagle or maybe
    “Gunter glieben glauchen globen” )

But maybe the most important thing ( If they want to sell a lot of them. ) is how much will it will actually be selling for.

Rock Island Armory posted some pictures to it’s Facebook page at the beginning of this month that appear to show a brand new gun from the Philippines-based firearms manufacturer. These pictures reveal a striker fired, polymer frame 9mm pistol called the RIA SF9.The new pistol is obviously on display at some sort of show. The accompanying flyers at the display describe this new offering as a 9mm, striker-fired, 17-round, full-sized, semi-auto handgun.

    I'm hoping for around $twofitty ...

    but much would you pay?

I'm more amazed that the writer of that blog calls himself an author.

Another clone to add to the line up. I'd rather have a lone wolf glock

^ The "so damn ugly" pistol.

Now that's a handgun name the American people would buy.

              Simple, honest and truthful.

I can see the TV commercial now....

"The "So damn ugly" pistol is not quite perfection ....

but we copied that perfection one, pretty damn close."

What do you mean? That pistol hardly looks like a copy of a 1911. The perfect pistol since 1802.

Has RIA ever made anything original?
                  I can't think of anything...

Very nice and fits this thread perfectly.
I'm really surprised I've never heard that one before. Where have I been.

I'm sensing some dislike for this new semi-original style pistol ...

What if an uncle passed away and left you a semi auto pistol, would you preferred this "SF9" or High Point 9 mm ?

Who needs original? They made their mark making 1911 clones. Making Glock clones fits their strategy perfectly. 1911's used to be the top selling semi-auto. Now Glocks are the top selling semi-auto. So they make inexpensive clones of both. Makes perfect sense to me.

and here I was thinking that Glocks already were "value priced"
Wish I was rich instead of so damn good looking.

That's a good point but I think Rock Island Armory already tried to "perfectionized" the 1911.

I'm not sure they reached perfection there but they sold a Lot for one reason....
they were low-priced in comparison to others.

                              I hope they remember that.
