Stock vs Brace

The length of your barrel makes it a rifle whether you have a stock, brace or just a buffer tube out back (as long as your oal is long enough and not a sbr). You can put the brace on your rifle if you like it would just make the pistol folks look bad if you use the brace as a stock.

Using a brace where you could use a stock instead is DUMB. The SBA3 is made of rubber. It's fairly stiff rubber, but it's nowhere near as solid as a real stock.

It's also collapsible, albeit with a tool. I can't imagine why anyone would want to do this.

So in MHO if you configure the "brace" with a "pull" longer than 13.5 inches it becomes a stock.

As in the other thread. The BATFE has the opinion that a "brace" which has a "pull" of longer than 13.5" is a stock.

I used a SB tactical extended pistol brace 11.5 inches got it from Joe Bobs .then drilled a small hole like the Kak tube .. works just fine

A pistol brace was designed/approved such that a pistol REMAINS a pistol.

Using one on a rifle should not change the classification of a rifle to a pistol.

Minimum overall length of a semi-auto centerfire rifle is 30".

Also, if the brace can collapse/fold, then it may cause CA LEOs to treat it as a restricted feature (collapsing/folding stock).
Which can result in an arrest/confiscation for illegal assault weapon.
Which would then need to be fought in Courts and depending on how good your lawyer is get the charges dropped ("you can beat the rap, but not the ride").
