I'm a historical guy, so if get a gew98.
They are getting harder to find and are super cool with the old Lange vizier sight!
An m95 long rifle perhaps, same boat as above.
A c96 broom handle mauser. I've wanted one since I was a kid.
5 highpoint c9s. So I can form a gang.

People are going to give you a hard time for not clarifying the seemingly infinite number of variables that could affect such a personal purchase decision. Here are the main factors you left out:
-Is that $1000 including possible sales tax, FSC, and DROS fees?
-Is it really only $1000, or are you playing it safe should your significant other stumble across this thread?Comment

I'd get whatever I wanted that was under a grand. I tend not to worry about what others want and get what I want. I'm sure you have a list like all of us do my list is long and will never end lol. Good luckNRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER

Due to idiotic ammo restrictions that are expected to happen relatively soon....
that's where I would put any extra money.
(maybe get are used or inexpensive new gun for around $500, if I really wanted to sooth a new gun fix, and the rest in ammo.)Comment

You need a 44 magnum. Ruger or Smith & Wesson doesn't matter as much just get a 44 mag.Comment
