If you're looking for an optometrist in your area that works with shooters I can't help you with that but if you want to chat online with someone who knows what shooter's need for vision correction talk to Art at Shooting Sight, the guy knows his stuff and has helped many a shooter, especially ones with older eyes.

When that front sight started to get fuzzy after 40 shooting Highpower I worked with my optometrist on a corrected lens for my Knobloch shooting glasses, I was the first competitive shooter my optometrist had worked with but it didn't take him long to understand what I needed. If they know their field most optometrists will understand, but maybe the key is finding one that isn't skidish at the mention of shooting sports, mine was cool with it.
