    Upper/Caliber recommendation

    Hello everyone,

I have a lar grizzly ar-15 lower in dros right now. This will be my second EBR.

My first one is a cmmg lower with an LMT 1/7 twist 14.5 (16 with flash hider) inch upper in 5.56, carbine length gas system, bullet button, pistol grip and collapsible stock.

I was wondering what you guys though i should do with this new lower.

Should I built it featurless with a fixed stock and monsterman grip in 5.56 cailber with a 16 inch upper and a mid length gas system, or gas piston system, so i can use my pre ban 30 round mags?

Or should I venture into a 6.8 spc, or 260 remington upper?

Or build the featureless in 5.56 and save the third build for for 260 rem or 6.8 spc.

The only reason I am not doing a .308 build right now is due to cost.

    I do reload.

This gun will be strictly for fun use, such as going to angeles or blm land. I am not a hunter, nor a 3 gun or rifle competitor (although I would love to do that some day).

260 would be AWESOME, but that's more target/precision use. If you are just having fun, plinking around, I'd say keep it 5.56. you could go 9mm to save some $$, but with current 9mm prices.... 5.56 is lookin' good. 6.8 is just way to pricey and rare if it's just a fun gun.

edit: Then again.. since it's your second rifle... you can afford to venture into the 6.8/260 arena...

I am also deliberating what my second build will be. First was a conventional 5.56, so I think we both should go pretty exotic for our second! I was thinking 6.8SPC, but I lost interest. So some ideas should really help! Sorry I don't have any, or else I would be putting the plan into action myself!

        .260 is the .308 platform.....
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

              6.8 fits standard .223/5.56 lower....
