    Ammo Storage

The California Handgun Safety Certificate study guide (my cert expired) says not to store you ammo and weapon together. Granted I don't have the room in my safe to keep all of my ammo in there, but especially now with the price of ammo I don't want to not lock it up.

So what do you all do to store your ammo. I hate to buy another safe to just store ammo in.

I just bought another safe just for my ammo. Too much money in 1 spot not to protect from fire or theft. Also talking 10k rounds. How mush are you talking about? More than som surplus cans and a lock?

I have my ammo and guns in the same safe. I don't see how it's an issue if it's stored in the same safe, unless it's taking up space.

I use a small server cabinet to store ammo. I just sealed up the vents and throw some desicant packs in it.

It's starting to fill the closet it's stored in. I'm not talking 10,000 rounds, but I do have cases, way too much for ammo cans I think.

You could always use the square buckets that laundry detergent from Costco comes in. They are a little smaller than standard 5 gallon buckets, but being square makes them easier to load up and store.

I keep my plinking ammo in the shelf in the garage. My match ammo, powder and primers are in the closet where it is nice and cool. Guns in the safe, well most of them anyways.

I have a whole bunch of 40mm ammo cans, I use those.

Just to let you know its not illegal to store ammo/gun together. I usually keep them both together for personal reasons, but then again i don't keep my guns in safes either...

At most the loaded clip/magazine, is "apart" from the Gun/Rifle. I dont think I will have time to sit there and load 28 rounds (never 30) into my "Preban Mags!" But when it comes to my shotgun, well, its got 5 Bucks and 2 slugs waiting for one of the civil unrest to unfold!"

This whole "ammo shortage" thing is pretty disturbing.

Is it on purpose? And if so, why? What does someone know that we don't?

None of my online haunts have any .40 or .45 worth mentioning. Are we to be led to believe the factories are no longer producing? I wonder what'll be like at the Gun Show in Ventura this weekend....ghastly long lines with little return, or will I be able to drop five-six hundred bucks on ammunition and wait it out?

                            We shall see.
